Description

Press release from the City of Cambridge: March 10, 2021 In honor of Women's History Month, the Cambridge Commission on the Status of Women has released its second installment of the Mapping Feminist Cambridge series. The new video series offers a virtual walking tour of Central Square. Come learn about the feminist activists and organizations of the 1970's–1990's in Central Square who organized around abortion access, domestic violence prevention and services, prisoners' rights, housing, representation in the arts, and much more. While aspiring to inclusion, feminist organizing has experienced and continues to experience exclusions of race, class, gender identity, religion, and disability. Mapping Feminist Cambridge has spotlighted many stories from multiple perspectives, yet there are always more to find. The Mapping Feminist Cambridge - Central Square companion guide to the video tour will be released later this spring. This press release was produced by the City of Cambridge.
