Temporary Employment Services (TES) places employees in departments that have temporary staffing needs. Assignment locations include the UC San Diego campus, UC San Diego Health System - located in Hillcrest, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Thornton and Veteran's Administration Hospitals, and a variety of UC San Diego satellite locations. Responsible for performing a variety of duties related to production, food service, and patient meal service, according to established procedures and quality standards. CUSTODIAL: Perform semi-skilled and skilled cleaning for a variety of facilities on campus. Clean and disinfect assigned areas as needed. Empty and clean wastebaskets, ashtrays, and other waste receptacles. Work with building occupants to answer questions regarding custodial or special setup services performed. Effectively work with campus customers and custodial team members to accomplish work with a high level of quality and efficiency. DINING: As a medical or campus dining staff, your responsibilities could include front of the house or back of the house job duties. Basic responsibilities will include any or all of the following: food service, preparation, and/or cooking. Employees are required to organize inventory, maintain hygienic practices/dishwashing, and operate a cash handling register or electronic tablet. Responsible for handling all concerns related to meal service, verifying the accuracy of orders, quality of presentation, and making necessary adjustments for dietary restrictions. Striving to meet and exceed customer and/or patient expectations, while adhering to departmental policies and procedures. MEDICAL ADMIN: TES is searching for applicants possessing patient support and/ or medical administrative skills. Responsibilities may include: coordinate new patient appointments; process scheduling requests that come via mail, e-mail, fax, and telephone; obtaining all past and present medical history for all new patients; coordinating billing functions in accordance to various contract policies/procedures (HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal, GHPP, CCS); Other duties as assigned. CAMPUS ADMIN: Answer phones, respond to emails and greet guests. Photocopy, file, and scan sensitive departmental documents. Heavy data entry and maintaining spreadsheets. Scheduling basic appointments and managing shared calendars. Maintain and order office supplies. Customer service. Other duties or special projects as assigned.
