SARASOTA, FL — Reef Cakes, a fish cakes and seafood restaurant, opened its doors in Sarasota's Southside Village March 1. The restaurant, located at 1812 S Osprey Ave. in Sarasota, will celebrate its grand opening Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will include live steel drum music, free raffle entry for a gift basket prize and giveaways throughout the evening, according to Reef Cake's Facebook page. Reef Cakes brands itself as "a new, fast-casual healthy lunch alternative," according to Facebook. Similar to crab cakes, the restaurant serves handcrafted cakes using locally sourced fish, according to its menu. These cakes are baked and briefly seared before being served. It's here!!
