MIDDLETOWN, CT — The Middletown Board of Education this week approved the district's academic calendar for the 2021-22 school year. The first day of school for students will be Sept. 9 and the tentative last day of school is scheduled to be June 16. Here are all the key dates approved by the school board: First Student Day: September 9 Labor Day: September 6 Columbus Day: October 11 Election Day, November 2 (no school for students) Veterans Day: November 11 Thanksgiving Recess: November 25 & 26 Holiday Recess: December 24, 2021 - January 2, 2022 New Year's Day Observed: December 31, 2021 Martin Luther King Day: January 17, 2022 Presidents' Day: February 21, 2022 Winter Recess: February 22 & 23, 2022 Good Friday: April 15, 2022 Spring Break: April 11 - 15, 2022 Memorial Day: May 30, 2022 Middletown High School Graduation Day Tentative – June 16, 2022 Last Student Day: June 16, 2022 All new teachers are scheduled to report on Sept. 1.
