PLAINFIELD, IL — Another Romeoville man has been charged in the armed robbery at the Plainfield 7-Eleven store on Monday, according to records from the Will County Sheriff's Office.
Chad Slaughterbeck, 25, was charged with armed robbery and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude the police.
Slaughterbeck was driving the Chevrolet Impala that Edson Castillo, 33, of Romeoville, got into while he was fleeing after robbing the convenience store at 15809 S. Route 59, according to police, who said Castillo showed a knife to an employee and demanded money from the cash register.
A little while later, Plainfield officers learned that the Will County Sheriff's Deputies had two suspects in custody near the Turk Furniture store in Joliet. One of the deputies had seen Castillo quickly exit 7-Eleven and flee in a car, police said.
They were apprehended after a brief chase and police recovered the knife along with a bag containing $58. Castillo was charged with armed robbery.
A Will County judge set Slaughterbeck's bond at $100,000 and Castillo's bond at $175,000, court records show. Both men have also been ordered by the judge to have no contact with any 7-Eleven stores in Illinois.
