Hope and Friendship rallied more than 2500 brown sacks of snacks and notes along with $5 gift cards for lunch to share among those within the Lemont community (Food Pantry clients, seniors, home bound, ill; and to assist our school social workers meet needs here in our corner of the world); as well as multiple outreaches that serve the homeless in Joliet and Chicago. We also delivered 17 blankets created by a very talented and compassionate Brownie Troop! Below are some of the offerings of thanks that came in from those who received the gift that nourished body and spirit: Thank you's from "Warm a Heart, Lift a Spirit" 2021 "I just wanted to let you know that on the first day of having those lovely bagged lunches I had a kiddo take one and actually eat! She normally refuses to eat or bring her own lunch or get a lunch from the cafeteria so it just made me so happy. Thanks again for all you do!!" "Thank you so much for bringing the lunches for our kids. They're ADORABLE. I don't know why I didn't expect them to be cute, but they brightened my day and I didn't even eat anything." "Thanks again for taking care of so many in the community." "I wanted to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to you and to everyone who helped create the brown bag sacks and thought of giving some bags to the social workers for our students." "I had a student who was in crisis today and really having a hard time. I asked if she had eaten anything today and she said no. I offered for her to choose a bag from the box. The smile she had when pulling out all of the little special notes and reading them was truly amazing. The ones with flowers on them were her favorite. I know she needed those words of encouragement and a snack to get through the morning." "Thank you from all of us. You truly make a difference and I appreciate all that you do to help others by spreading a little more love and kindness in the world." "Hi just open everything before I got him to bed I opened the most beautiful throw. I cried happy tears not only a beautiful garden of flowers but the love that came with it please tell her I cried happy tears the happiness she brought to us I will treasure it forever you sweet Terri are do very special and are surrounded by all beautiful angels thank you for sharing all of them with us. God's blessings to all" "Hi sweet Terri thank you so very much that was so sweet it certainly touched my heart please send our love to all and to each and every child such heartfelt saying I read each and every one. Stay safe love hugs and prayers always each and every day with all of you." "Thank you all so much for the wonderful surprise. I was smiling as I read the cards." "In these times I can't get out much and this was just a sweet and thoughtful gift. I'll think of you all as I wrap myself in the warm blanket." "God bless you all!" "Thank you so much for keeping us seniors on Talcott Ave, by giving us goody bags. It really is nice of you all to keep remembering us! Thank you!" "Thank you and all of your helpers. Just love all the kindness and it just warms my heart to know that so many people care! God Bless you all! (I just really love reading the cards)!!" "Want to thank you for all the goodies you bring to us seniors. May God bless you all!" "Thanks again for all the bags! My church's Meals Ministry outreach to the homeless is excited to receive them and will put them to good use! You're the best! So glad it was such a successful campaign." "Omg you are so kind. Today was the first day I made it through without crying until I got your package I started to sob like a baby. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Once I get my act together I would love to volunteer and help out Hope and Friendship xo" "Thank you! It means more than you know. The boys showed me the notes. You do so much that melts my heart. I truly appreciate you. You're a blessing in our lives." "Thank you for the care package you sent the other day. We so appreciate you thinking of us. It lifted our spirits. God bless!" "Not only did the care packages you dropped off lift our spirits- but it brought literally happy tears to my eyes. I knew you were doing the outreach- but being included immensely touched me. As I go through the rounds of chemo and all the different pains etc. I'm trying to stay strong. At times- as you know- having others come along beside us to encourage one way or the other- truly lifts the spirit, mind, emotions and honestly for a short time the physical trials seem to settle a bit. The blanket left with us is so adorable! It was made by a 2nd grader named Millie. (My daughter just kept a golden puppy from our breeding and named her Millie!) It's easy to remember this child's name and the kindness of her participating in this outreach. I will be lifting her and her family up for the Lord's blessings to be upon them. Thank you again- you have been equipped by the Lord in a marvelous way- making a difference and touching so many lives. I pray for you and your family- knowing too the enemy I'm sure would love to stop your ministry, etc. But in Christ we can do all things. May he continue to provide all you need for each and every endeavor you undertake. Blessings dear friend!" **Thank you for making this outreach important enough to set aside time, effort and resources to put these gifts of love in literally thousands of hands and therefore lift thousands of hearts! In one outreach you have made the world a better place.
