MANHATTAN BEACH, CA—If you are between the ages of 16-64 and have certain underlying health issues that could put you at the risk of becoming very ill from COVID-19, you will be able to receive the vaccine beginning Monday, according the LA County of Public Health These conditions, listed in the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Provider Bulletin, include people who suffer from: Cancer, current with debilitated or immunocompromised stateChronic kidney disease, stage 4 or aboveChronic pulmonary disease, oxygen dependentDown syndromeImmunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from solid organ transplantPregnancySickle cell diseaseHeart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies (excludes hypertension)Severe obesity Type 2 diabetes To schedule your appointment, visit the County's website. Appointments are mandatory to receive the vaccine and fill up quickly. The vaccines are free. For those without access to a computer or the internet, or with disabilities, a County call center is open daily from 8 a.m.–8:30 p.m. to help schedule appointments at 833-540-0473.
