Guy/Gal Friday, I am going in for knee surgery in a few days and will be having trouble with my day to day activities for a few months. I need someone to help out with odd jobs. I want someone who is versatile as I am fixing up my house and want to keep working, but there are a lot of things I can’t do because of the surgery. I would like someone to come out between 10 and 20 hours per week to take care of the things I can’t do myself. There will be some of the remodeling/repair tasks and also some housekeeping and general chores. I live on the west side near Speedway and Camino de Oeste. You must live close and I will not consider anyone who lives more than 10 minutes away driving. (Google Speedway and Camino de Oeste to calculate driving time.) You don’t need any experience for this job. I am doing remodeling and you will be doing some tasks in this area, but I knew exactly what to do, have all of the tools, and can guide you through it. I don’t have any requirements for age and will accept a younger or older person, provided you are fit and able to do the things I can’t do. However, I do have strict requirements: 1. NO SMOKERS. I not only wont allow you to smoke in the house, I don’t want the smoke smell from clothes in my house. If you smoke, don’t apply. 2. No druggies. I know the signs and will send you home. 3. I need someone who likes to get things done. I don’t pay people to sit around. I know how to do all of the things I will ask you to do and I will show you. You need to then do them as if you care about them getting done, not just to fill up your hours. 4. There will be lifting. You need to be strong. 5. Honesty is extremely important to me. I will be giving you the keys to my house so I will have to do a background check. As far as the pay goes I don’t ever pay less than $12 per hour. If you think you aren’t worth $12, don’t apply. If you can show you are worth more, I can go up to $15. You should get between 10 and 20 hours per week. The exact times of work are flexible and I can work around your schedule. If it is OK if you go to school, for example, or are taking care of children or elderly, or even if you already have a part time job somewhere else. However, if you already have a full time job this probably won’t work.
