Come out on Friday, March 19th for a Sip & Shop event from 9AM to 1PM at 22nd Street Coffee just minutes from IKEA Tampa and Ybor City, brought to you by Intensity Academy Gourmet and Hot Sauce Company. Outdoor seating and indoor seating available. 22nd Street Coffee celebrates the heritage of Historic Ybor City, Tampa, Florida, the birthplace of the U.S. cigar industry. Great coffee is loved by Tampa natives, largely due to the influence of Cuban, Spanish and Italian cigar immigrants in the early 20th century. During the era of cigar factories in Ybor City, workers would sip coffee at their rolling tables as the newspaper was read to them by “el Lector”. Today's Grandparents rolled cigars in factories and Tampa residents grew up hearing stories about how coffee helped them enjoy their work and kept them energized throughout the day.
