ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, Arlington Heights has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, 124 people have died due to COVID-19 in Arlington Heights since April 8, 2020. That marks one new death since our last report on March 5. The most deaths in a single day since the start of the outbreak was six on May 23. Vaccination For Seniors: Sign-ups Underway For Schaumburg Event As of Friday, there have been 5,729 confirmed coronavirus-related cases in Arlington Heights, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health. That marks an increase of 50 new cases since March 5, the lowest weekly total of new cases since Patch reported 25 on Sept. 25, 2020. For further comparison, there was an increase of 59 cases between Feb. 25-March 5. These numbers indicate an -22.4 percent change in confirmed cases over the last 14 days. Where To Get The Coronavirus Vaccine In Illinois As of Friday, the Cook County Department of Health is reporting 215,915 confirmed cases and 4,047 deaths since the pandemic began. That marks an increase of 1,559 cases and 18 deaths since Patch's last update on March 5. For further comparison, there was an increase of 2,181 cases and 37 deaths between Feb. 25-March 5. These numbers include all confirmed and probable cases under the jurisdiction of the Cook County Department of Public Health (excludes Chicago, Evanston, Oak Park, Skokie, and Stickney Township). Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,204,409 cases, including 20,863 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 89,893 specimens for a total of 18,894,652. As of last night, 1,118 individuals in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 231 patients were in the ICU and 102 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from March 4-10, 2021 is 2.2 percent. In addition, approximately 414,900 doses total have been allocated to the federal government's Pharmacy Partnership Program for long-term care facilities. This brings the total Illinois doses to 4,903,555. A total of 3,680,703 vaccines have been administered in Illinois as of last midnight, including 353,125 for long-term care facilities. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is 98,166 doses. Yesterday, 112,776 doses were administered in Illinois. The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 24,499 confirmed cases in Cook County long-term facilities and 3,356 deaths. That marks an increase of 455 cases and 52 deaths since our last report on Feb. 25. For further comparison, there was an increase of 286 cases and 24 deaths between Feb. 18-25. In the past, the IDPH has temporarily removed some cases and deaths on three different occasions since Patch has been tracking these numbers, before including them back in at a later date.
