BERKELEY, CA – Two Oakland men were arrested after a shooting Tuesday evening in South Berkeley that followed a domestic dispute, police said.
Officers responded at around 5 p.m. to a report of a shooting at the intersection of California and Prince streets, police said.
Officers arriving on the scene found a 32-year-old man on the ground with a single gunshot wound and a 41-year-old man identified as the shooter who immediately surrendered to authorities, police said.
The shooting occurred after the 41-year-old man intervened in a domestic dispute according to police.
Both men armed themselves during the dispute, which culminated in gunfire, police said.
The Berkeley Fire Department transported the 32-year-old man to a hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
The 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a loaded/concealed firearm.
The 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats.
