Description

Press release from the White Plains Public Library: March 11, 2021 9:58 am | by Kathleen Degyansky, Assistant Director Blood pressure management is more important than ever during the pandemic. The Library will begin loaning blood pressure monitors on March 15th. The monitor comes with a cuff, instructions, and a log the patron may keep for recording daily readings. The monitors can be placed on hold by any Westchester County library card holder in good standing and may be kept for 14 days. Patrons may pick up and return the device to White Plains Public Library only. High blood pressure is often the first domino in a chain or "domino effect" leading to devastating consequences, like stroke, heart failure, sexual dysfunction, vision loss, heart attack, and kidney disease. A simple blood pressure check is the first step to preventing the "domino effect." Learn more at heart.org/hbp. This program is made possible through the generous support of the Heart Association of Westchester. This press release was produced by the White Plains Public Library.
