Description

Taught by Sue Moss A new look at traditional watercolors. A New Look at Watercolor XART 708 01 Taught by Sue Moss. The cost is $25. Using a product called Watercolor Ground, many surfaces which are not traditionally viable for watercolors and water media, can be transformed into beautiful watercolors. In this class, students will learn about this medium and create a floral watercolor painting on a canvas panel and create a unique small painted tin box. Each artist will receive in kit form: a canvas panel, a small tin box (Altoid mint size), a small piece of sandpaper, small containers of watercolor medium and a container of gloss varnish . Students will provide either tube watercolor (small sample set) or Prang cake watercolor tray, a palette (plate works great), paper towels and 2 small water containers. In addition students will need 2 round brushes in a small and medium size. Synthetic will work, just make sure it comes to a good point when wet. Because the watercolor ground must be applied 24 hours before painting upon, kits for the class will be available for pick up one week prior to the class at Greenville Campus of MCC (registration will end April 1.) Instructions on application will be provided in the kit. The class will be held at Montcalm Community College TLC building G119 on Saturday, April 10 from 9 until noon. Due to covid precautions, the class size will be limited to 10 and all participants must follow the college Covid guidelines, Mask wearing at all times, 6 ft distancing, and a pre-entry covid survey.
