Wildfire Mitigation Specialist Pay Rate: $33.94/hr. W2 100% remote work but must live close to Denver or Silverthorne, CO Its an 8 hour day but they are paid 7.5 due to 30 min lunch Interview preference: Phone, Web Ex and possibly in person. Due to COVID in person may be difficult. WILDFIRE PROTECTION UNIT - SEASONAL WILDFIRE MITIGATION SPECIALIST *** Private Client Group currently has an opening for a seasonal Wildfire Mitigation Specialist (WMS) position within our Wildfire Protection Unit. Responsibilities include the following: Perform onsite consultations on policyholders homes in wildfire hazard areas. Complete hazardous fuels assessment forms. Identify wildfire hazards, educate and motivate policyholders to mitigate their homes. Respond to policyholders' homes if threatened by wildfire in any of the Western States Prepare homes by removing combustibles around structures, applying fire retardant and/or Thermo-Gel to protect structures from oncoming wildfire. Must be willing to take target trips to perform consultations and/or respond to emergencies outside the Silverthorne area All applicants must meet established minimum requirements: Have four (4) years firefighting experience with a municipal fire agency Reside within 30 minutes of Silverthorne, CO Be able to pass physical fitness Pack Test Unless on approved time off, applicant must be available to respond to wildfires after work hours, on weekends and holidays Possession of state or federal certifications: ICS 100 (Introduction to Incident Command System) ICS 200 (Basic Incident Command System) S-110 (Basic Wildland Fire Suppression Orientation) S-130 (Firefighter Training) S-190 (Wildland Fire Behavior) L-180 (Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service) S-212 (Wildland Fire Chainsaws) S-215 (Fire Operations in the Wildland Urban Interface) This seasonal position typically operates from March 1st through November 30th. Based on company need, these dates could be reduced or extended.
