Area Manager- Commercial Landscaping Silverdale, WA Our client, a locally owned Landscape and Maintenance Company ($10+ M in revenues), is looking for an Area Manager to join their Silverdale team. Known for their industry leading methods in efficiency and sustainable practices, this is a great leadership opportunity with an established company in the landscaping industry. This role will report to the Branch Operations Manager and have direct supervision of 6-18 employees, providing accountability for the professional delivery of contracted maintenance services to valued clients. The ideal candidate is someone with a BA in Landscape Architecture or Horticulture, or at least 5 years of related work experience in the field of irrigation and landscaping. Area Manager Responsibilities: Oversee scheduling of daily work and tasks for Maintenance Crew Leaders and crews to ensure timely completion; direct supervision of 6-18 employees. Recruit and develop field personnel. Utilize company sponsored employee referral incentive programs, and work with Branch Operations Manager and Field Recruiting Manager to staff your teams. Plan seasonal landscaping tasks and make sure they are completed successfully on time and on budget. Ensure a high client retention rate (90%) with routine visits, addressing customer concerns within 24 hours, and ensuring customer satisfaction through regular communication (check ins, email, phone, etc.). Ensure that labor is in line with budgeted labor costs each month. Successfully hit budgeted Enhancement and Irrigation sales goals. Maintain a low employee turnover rate with excellent leadership, relationship building, and career development of your staff. Create a positive work environment and provide motivation for employees to learn and develop; oversee direct performance management programs including employee reviews, progressive discipline, and conflict resolution. Promote and contribute to a strong safety culture by ensuring employees have and use proper PPE, conducting routine safety reviews, and weekly safety meetings with all field personnel. Maintain an inventory of company vehicles, trailers, and equipment. Communicate with shop mechanics on any vehicle, trailer, or equipment repair needs. Partner with Business Development Manager to grow business through prospecting for new sites and clients. Area Manager Qualifications: Reflect company core values of integrity, humility, excellence, and employee development. BA in Landscape Architecture or Horticulture, or at least 5 years of related work experience in the field of irrigation and landscaping. 3 years of verifiable field experience in commercial landscape maintenance. Strong background, with working knowledge of construction/installation & irrigation. Ability to program irrigation controllers & evaluate systems to diagnose overall performance & coverage. Valid driver license issued by the state where employed. Commercial Pesticide Applicators License, or ability to obtain within 1 year. Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) encouraged. Basic math, with ability to calculate figures such as SF area and CY volume. Bi-lingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
