We are a parking lot sweeping company that has a centrally located operational base that allows us to efficiently clean properties throughout the metropolitan Kansas City area. Our focus on customer service has allowed us to build a strong customer base in the metropolitan area with both small and large commercial properties. We have a strong history in Kansas City we have been keeping parking lots clean in the metro area for over twenty years. The sweeping night Operations Manager's primary role is to lead the daily sweeping operations. This individual will be accountable and responsible for managing departmental safety, development of sweeping personnel, quality control, maintenance of equipment and departmental cost controls. This position will provide both technical and leadership support to ensure complete coordination through the entire shift. Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of shift sweeping operations. Manage operations ensuring consistent service and continuous improvement toward key department metrics. Lead operations on the night shift. Provide supervision that promotes and maintains a productive and harmonious work environment. Manage performance and development of the sweeping team. Lead shift meeting each night and supervise between 1 to 8 employees. Assure drivers are trained in processes and quality standards. Monitor progress of team members to ensure individual pace is in step with department pace. Proactively ensure quality system compliance by performing audits (visits to centers, live audits, and online audits). Make appropriate decisions. Communicate effectively to management. Fill in as needed for Operators. Work with equipment to ensure proper maintenance is reported and performed. Work with management to control and improve service results. Perform general vehicle and equipment maintenance as needed. Attend department meetings on day shift as needed. Qualifications and/or Knowledge of: Valid and current Driver's License required. Basic methods, tools, techniques, and materials used in public works maintenance and repair work. Operation and maintenance of a motorized street sweeper and auxiliary equipment. Operation of a variety of public works light power-driven equipment. Safe work practices. Ability to: Demonstrate competence in the operation and maintenance of a vacuum sweeper. Operate vacuum sweeper safely and within the DOT regulations. Operate trucks and other light power-driven and vibrating hand tools and equipment. Perform heavy manual labor and lift up to 50 pounds. Understand and carry out oral and written directions. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Perform outdoor work in extreme weather conditions. Document work as requested. Pass a DOT physical and drug screen. Job Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must have a valid Driver's License, clean driving record, clean background check, and drug screen test. Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be able to work some weekends and holidays. Must have excellent English verbal and written/reading communication skills. Must be a self-starter capable of managing many priorities with minimal guidance. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have the ability to get things done and utilize company resources effectively. Previous supervisor experience with documented leadership success. Previous sweeping experience preferred but not required. Strong computer skills required. Must have knowledge of auto systems, tools, and technical resources. Excellent diagnostic skills. Experience working night shifts.
