Community Housing Initiatives is seeking an energetic full-time Maintenance Technician to enhance service to our residents and properties in the Mason City/Forest City area. The Maintenance Technicians share the day-to-day responsibility of preventative maintenance of our communities to include: Positive interaction with residents Unit turns and apartment repairs Light electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work Basic appliance repair and troubleshooting Painting and drywall repair Installation of bathroom and kitchen faucets and fixtures Custodial and grounds work Accurate record-keeping of preventative maintenance, work orders, inspections, and inventories Unit inspections to ensure compliance standards are being met After-hours emergency calls If you fall short in any of the categories below, yet you’re eager to learn and are drawn to our mission, please consider applying. Community Housing Initiatives is looking for candidates who possess the following skills and qualifications: Related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and repair experience; however, CHI is willing to train the right person Effective customer service and reasoning Self-motivated and willing to take initiative Basic computer know-how to track work orders, submit timesheets, and respond to emails Ability to perform moderate heavy physical work, exerting up to 80-100 pounds of force on occasion, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 5-15 pounds constantly, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, including duties requiring repetitive motion skills Must have dependable vehicle to transport tools and equipment to job site Must provide proof of liability insurance and valid driver's license CHI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace.
