400,000,000 firearms in the hands of US citizens

Think about it. There are about 100,000,000 US citizens with over 400 million guns and billions of rounds of ammo in the US. This group of people outnumber all the militaries and police agencies of the world combined by a factor of 8. Last year there were almost 40 million guns sold in the US. Now with a set of common household tools one can make a fully automatic weapon on the kitchen table in a matter of a few hours. No serial number and no background check. Cost will be less than the cost of a legal firearm. I thinks it's best to pull back on the divisive rhetoric because we don't want a civil war which will be very bloody. Please take the upper road and allow for others to have a difference of opinion and respect that opinion even if you don't agree with it. I have worked hard to have friends from all sides of the political divide and we find that we have more in common that have things that divide us. For all of us the politicians are the ones that are destroying our lives with excessive laws and regulations that keep us in a constant turmoil trying to keep up with those laws and regulations.
