Salem Marking City Vaccinations On 'Witchometer'

SALEM, MA — Salem is marking the rate of coronavirus vaccinations in the city by filling up its "Witchometer." Salem officials reported that as of Thursday 20 percent of the city resident had received at least one dose of a vaccine — coloring the Witchometer green through the first portion of its broom. The city has also compiled a comprehensive list of all vaccination sites in the area here. On Thursday, the state added 400,000 educators and school staff statewide to those who are eligible for the vaccine. Thursday is the final day those seeking a vaccination will use the state's vaccination finder website. Starting on Friday, eligible residents will be able to set up a notification alert that an appointment is available to them. They will then have that appointment "held" for up to 24 hours while they input their information to book it. Four dates have also been set aside at mass vaccination sites specifically for educators.
