Norwalk Man Sentenced In Federal Cocaine Trafficking Case

NORWALK, CT — A 46-year-old Norwalk man was sentenced Wednesday to 120 months in prison, followed by eight years of supervised release, in connection with a federal cocaine trafficking case, announced United States Attorney Leonard C. Boyle. Domenico Sandalo, who was previously convicted of federal drug offenses in 2011 and 2013, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant, who also ordered him to pay a $5,000 fine. The sentencing occurred via videoconference due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. According to court documents and statements, in June 2019, the Drug Enforcement Administration's Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, Stamford Police Department and Norwalk Police Department received information that Sandalo had a large quantity of cocaine, oxycodone pills and marijuana. Authorities arrested Sandalo that month after investigators conducted a court-authorized search of his home and seized approximately: 600 grams of cocaine6 kilograms of marijuana77 oxycodone pills46 fentanyl pills771 THC vape cartridges$53,943 in cash Sandalo pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine in December 2020, and he has been free on a $1.5 million bond. He is required to report to prison on August 4, 2021. The DEA's Bridgeport task force, includes personnel from the DEA Bridgeport Resident Office, the Connecticut State Police, and the Bridgeport, Norwalk, Stamford, Stratford, Milford and Danbury Police Departments.
