Position Description: The Field Technician is primarily responsible for the safe delivery, assembly, electronic setup, repair and preventative maintenance of commercial fitness equipment at customer jobsites across the United States while delivering world-class customer service and 100% customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: • Safely drive and unload 16’ or 26’ box trucks to local and remote customer job sites across the U.S. • Ability to lift heavy weight. • Ability to drive a forklift and/or use a hand cart as needed to move equipment and load/unload trucks • Assemble commercial fitness equipment to manufacturer specifications in the warehouse and/or on a customer’s jobsite • Work to resolve issues on equipment to the satisfaction of MFS Customers. • Maintain service call records and ensure the work orders are closed appropriately in the database system for billing purposes using smart phone, tablet, iPad, and/or computer. • Maintain service call records and ensure the work orders are closed appropriately in the database system for billing purposes using smart phone, tablet, iPad, and/or computer. • Operate various power tools in order to load/unload/move/install equipment • Perform checklist verification to ensure unit has been assembled to manufacturer specs • Inspect and test equipment to ensure there are no operational and safety issues • Identify any damage or missing parts during assembly process and report issues to management • Manage time efficiently and effectively to ensure quality assembly of equipment • Communicate with Management on work performed, time required, and additional services needed • Prepare and maintain accurate electronic assembly records – both verbally and in writing • Report lost or missing tools to management • Review and adherence to customer and MFS Contracts • Maintain and keep products staged and organized in the warehouse • Assist with moving, cleaning, refurbishing, and photographing equipment • Ability to operate a fork lift as needed to move/load/unload equipment on racks and in box trucks • Be accountable for and maintain the good condition of assembly tools and supplies • Responsible for maintaining and organizing warehouse equipment and parts • Adhere to MFS plan for delivering exemplary service to customers • Make suggestions for department improvement initiatives • Company vehicle maintenance and source out renting ones when needed • Manage shipping logs by tracking inbound and outbound freight • Prepare and maintain service records as required • Support all MFS departments and department administration • Diagnose and/or repair equipment service issues over the phone and/or on jobsite • Discuss diagnosis and repairs performed with customer as well as additional services recommended/required • Look for additional opportunities for revenue from service/warranty work on additional machines and incremental revenue for new equipment and/or fitness accessories • Acquire and document proper part numbers and costs for repairs required • Verify warranty status, submit warranty claims to manufacturers and make part requests for covered items • Communicate performance metrics to management to ensure accurate reporting and timely invoicing Requirements: • Must possess strong work ethic • Must have valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record • High school diploma or equivalent • Must be mechanically inclined • Ability to work up to 40 hours a week Monday – Friday, and periodic Saturday’s • Ability to travel domestically including overnight stays • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills • Must have creative thinking and multi-tasking skills • Must have attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks • Commitment to meeting and exceeding deadlines, performance standards and goals • Experience with Excel, Word, Google and Outlook • Continue education through written content and/or online training resources • Make sure you have the department’s essential apps and email access on your cell phone • Honor the MFS employee handbook, your non-compete, and your confidentiality agreement Mental Demands: • Most of the duties are varied and regularly require analysis, comprehension, or limited judgment and discretion. Some of the duties may not conform to standard practices requiring the use of the analysis and interpretation to resolve problems. • Requires the use of mathematical skills • Requires continuous concentration, alertness and attention to detail • Requires an intermediate level of reading and writing • Must have the ability to make good decisions and judgments • Must have the ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team Physical Demands: • Occasionally lift up to 100lbs. • Climb ladders to a minimum of 15 feet. • Occasionally travel long distances. • Occasionally work long hours. • Occasionally work in extreme weather conditions.
