POSITION SUMMARY The Material Handler I is tasked with processing orders, receiving material, and loading/unloading trucks, all the while maintaining traceability and quality standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Select and pull material in a safe and efficient manner, according to Sales Order (SO) instructions. • Ensure product meets SO requirements. Verify and record all measurements. • Package and mark material according to instructions and prepare for shipping. • Receive and verify incoming material (buyouts and processors) meets specifications. • Load and unload material to/from vendors and customers. • Communicate with Warehouse Manager and appropriate Sales Representative regarding changes/clarification/problems with orders. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Complete job responsibilities in a manner that does not put him/herself or other individuals in an unsafe situation. • Operate all equipment safely, responsibly, and according to manufacturer’s instructions. • Maintain issued tools and equipment in good working condition. Report any discrepancies to Warehouse Manager. • Conduct equipment preventive maintenance per instructions and/or schedule. • Perform general cleanup of warehouse. • Provide feedback to Warehouse Manager regarding machine efficiency and product quality. • Assist in any other related activities, as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) • High School Diploma • Minimum one year forklift operating experience in a warehouse environment. • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English. • Metal service center experience preferred.
