UNION CITY, CA — Union City students will continue distance learning at least through April, the school board decided this week.
New Haven Unified School District Trustees voted 4-1 against a timeline to reopen elementary schools in April.
Community members spoke both for and against the plan, prior to the vote.
"The District will continue to focus on increasing opportunities for students to participate in on-campus experiences such as athletics, activities, and instructional opportunities, many of which have already begun with more being planned," the district said in a written release. "Every school in this district has at least one learning pod in place where a number of students come onto campus to engage in distance learning supervised by school staff."
The district will also focus on developing a TK-12 in-person summer school program.
