Part-time Barn Assistant / Ranch Hand

We are seeking to hire immediately a part-time weekend barn assistant/ranch hand for our three horses. The schedule for this position is set for Saturdays and Sundays with opportunity for additional hours during the week. We will also require flexibility as our needs shift and additional duties arise that may require your in-person assistance. Desired schedule will be coming in the mornings to feed, clean, and exercise the horses and return in the late afternoon for another feeding and preparing the feed for the next day. Responsibilities: Mucking/clean-up of the stables Feeding horses top quality feed/hay/supplements in the morning and late afternoon Exercising the horses daily Filling and cleaning water troughs and cleaning of automatic water bins Help with turn-in/out of horses Being available for veterinarian and ferrier appointments if needed on the weekend Keeping inventory of feed and supplies Maintaining safety a top priority at all times Requirements: Strongly preferred extensive experience with horses Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion, following instructions completely with attention to detail Able to work in a smoke free environment Must be able to remain focused and work effectively on their own and with a team Must be able to remain calm, think clearly and act quickly in emergencies Certified in CPR/First Aid is a bonus
