It's funny how you say that the republicans don't care about helping all of those Americans. The 'package' has less than 10% (generous estimate) going towards the virus or the virus relief. The rest is paybacks, bribes, and other pork for the democrats. If you're concerned about your family, think that all you're getting is $1,400 returned of the taxes that you've paid. And the $1.9 Trillion will be paid by your kids and grandkids. The republicans have been in favor of relief. They've passed a number of stimulus bills, with democratic help, in the past year. They tried to put their foot down when Biden's rescue bill paid more to union pension bailouts than went towards relief. They argued that Pelosi's subway and Schumer's bridge had nothing to do with relief. They didn't want the taxpayers of responsible states to have to fund the bailout of democratic cities and states that just couldn't manage a budget. The republicans couldn't understand how additional funding for humanities and arts was remotely connected to Covid. The only positive thing coming out of this bill is that republicans will be able to use it when running in 2022 to point out what happens when you put democrats in charge.
