Newtown Business Association To Host Summer Car Cruise

NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Business Association is bringing an antique and classic car show to the area on Saturday, June 20. In previous non-pandemic years, the car show was typically held on State Street in the borough. This year, vehicles will assemble at a staging area, where a panel of judges will award winners of "Best in Class" in five categories: Pre-1959, 1960-1969, 1970-1979, 1980-1996, foreign cars up through 1996, and Special Interest through 1996. After is judging is complete around 2 p.m., participating cars and trucks will take the show to downtown Newtown and through the neighborhoods of Newtown Place, Newtown Crossing and Newtown Grant. The route will be publicized here. The event will also be live-streamed on the Newtown Business Association Facebook page. Registration will open online on April 1. Participants will be limited to the first 100 registered cars and trucks. Registration per vehicle is a minimum $10 donation, with an opttion for a $25 or $50 contribution. All proceeds will go to the Wrightstown Food Cupboard, a local food pantry located at Penns Park United Methodist Church. The deadline to register online is June 11 or until spaces are filled.
