JOLIET, IL — A car belonging to a Joliet teenager was stolen late Wednesday night following a carjacking in a far east side subdivision in the New Lenox area.
Joliet police officers arrived in the 700 block of Lambeth Lane around 11:10 p.m. after learning that a carjacking happened. A 17-year-old boy told police he was sitting inside his car in front of his house when a small black car pulled up to his driveway.
The passenger jumped out of the car, pointed a gun at his victim and tried to enter the teenage's car, police said.
The 17-year-old Lambeth Lane resident tried driving away from his subdivision but the carjackers sped after him in their vehicle.
Eventually, the victim stopped and gave up his car and the "suspect then drove away in the victim's vehicle followed by the vehicle being driven by another suspect," Joliet police reports reflect.
The 17-year-old carjacking victim returned home and called 911. Joliet police say the crime remains under investigation. No arrests have been made yet
