MARTINEZ, CA — Two Solano County teens are facing robbery and kidnapping charges in connection with the robbery Wednesday of a CVS Pharmacy in Martinez, police said.
The Martinez Police Department dispatched officers at 11:07 a.m. Wednesday to reports that the pharmacy at CVS at 6668 Alhambra Ave. was being robbed by two male suspects wearing face masks and hoodies, Martinez police Lt. Mike Estanol said.
As officers were en route, the suspects made their way into the pharmacy and forced several employees into a secure area of the pharmacy, Estanol said.
The Pleasant Hill Police Department also sent officers and with their help, the store was surrounded, Estanol said.
As officers began evacuating nearby businesses, the suspects tried to escape but were immediately apprehended.
The 15- and 17-year-old suspects from Solano County were booked into Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping, kidnapping to commit a theft and criminal threats, Estanol said.
No injuries were reported in the incident, police said.
