Perform general grounds maintenance duties as assigned by the crew leader and supervisor. Follow all safety rules and procedures. Operate assigned equipment safely and in the manner that it was intended, avoiding damage to the surroundings, people, other property, and the equipment itself. Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections for assigned equipment. Primary Duties The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review. - Operate weed eaters, edger, blowers, push mowers, or riding mowers as assigned - Perform general grounds maintenance tasks including but not limited to: mulch, prune, weed, plant - Perform all work as instructed by the crew leader and supervisor - Ensure equipment is used only for work it was intended for in order to avoid damage to the equipment, the grounds, and other property. Ensure proper maintenance of assigned equipment - Notify crew leader and/or supervisor of any safety issues immediately - Perform other related duties as assigned Additional Responsibilities - Follow established break times, as well as beginning and end of scheduled work times - Complete time sheets daily - Perform quality, safe, and efficient work - Work according to all safety rules concerning your equipment - Ensure all safety rules and procedures are followed, (e.g. PPE worn, proper work methods used, and equipment safety devices are in place and operating) Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s) - Commercial grounds maintenance experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Ability to read a limited number of two and three-syllable words, to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers - Ability to print and speak simple sentences - Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions - Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
