BROOKHAVEN, GA — Brookhaven and other DeKalb County residents living near DeKalb-Peachtree Airport will have an easier way to file noise complaints soon.
The advisory board for the airport, more commonly known as PDK Airport, said Monday that it is partnering with a mobile app called PlaneNoise to help track and file noise complaints. The app is expected to add PDK in early April.
"We're undergoing testing right now and integration with our current noise complaint system," said Korey Barnes, PDK noise and environmental analyst, during the meeting.
A total of 24 airports track complaints with PlaneNoise as of publication.
PDK Airport, spread across 765 acres, is surrounded by residential neighborhoods in Brookhaven and Chamblee. Noise pollution has been a common issue among residents, who already file about 90 complaints per month, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
