Ready to go on an adventure? Grab a backpack and go! The Grange Insurance Audubon Center offers a variety of nature-themed backpacks for you and your family! Our Adventure Backpacks are generally geared to school-aged children and our Discovery Backpacks are generally geared to you and your little one (preschoolers). Usually, you can stop by the front desk to check one of these backpacks out; however, in promoting keeping everyone safe, please be sure to sign up for a backpack on this Eventbrite registration page. During this time, limited backpacks will be available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays between the hours of 10:30 am and 2 pm (10:30 - noon only on Saturdays). Families will be able to check out a backpack for an hour and a half at a time. Just drop by the front desk at your pick up time and our staff member or volunteer will hand you your backpack before you head out to enjoy your activities in the surrounding park. You're also welcome to enjoy our library and other bird viewing areas with your backpack contents. Adults will just need to leave an id with our staff person until each bag is returned. Pre-registration is required. Backpack Check Out is free - donations are always welcome. Items in the bag will be sanitized before your arrival and again after the bags are returned. Current Backpack Options: Bird Study Adventure Backpacks am/pm Due to current Covid-19 concerns, please be aware of the following: *Any registrant displaying symptoms of Covid-19 or feeling unwell is asked to stay home. *Please check your temperature before coming to the center, any registrant with a temperature of 100.4 or greater is asked to stay home. *Face masks are required for visitors ages 10 and up inside the building and the surrounding Scioto-Audubon Metro Park with the exception of those with medical exemptions. *Visitors may use the restrooms and drinking fountains located just outside the center's entrance as they are regularly cleaned cleaned by the Scioto-Audubon Metro Park staff. *Registrants for Grange Insurance Audubon Center programming will be asked to sign a release of liability/photo release before participating. The form may be filled out the day of programming at the front desk. *The playroom is closed to the public but may be reserved for private use on our other Eventbrite listing.
