Description
BELMONT, MA — Belmont police are officially back in their permanent headquarters on Concord Avenue.
The department was temporarily displaced for over a year while the 460 Concord Avenue location was under renovation and receiving additions.
For the last few months the department has been at 40 Woodland Street.
Officials tweeted a statement thanking the Belmont Building Committee for making the renovations and return possible. They also thanked the neighbors around Waverley Street and Belmont Village who dealt with the increase in traffic.
For the past 19 months, all Belmont arrests were being housed with Watertown police, but they can now go back to Belmont's headquarters.
