OK.... That was a well-thought-out, and extremely literate post, and his sentiments are entirely professional. The unfortunate truth, however, is that with the present state of professional music and the plague of hobbyists all around us, it's likely to draw the kind of flaming already seen in the first response.
I'd observe that the OP's frustration with the way things are is clearly evident--and shared by more pros than the CL readership might imagine, but that the pros already know most of what he has to say and the hobbyists won't understand it.
