ST. CHARLES TOWNSHIP, IL — A St. Charles Township man accused of a brutal domestic attack in mid-January was arrested Friday by U.S. Marshals, ending a six-week manhunt, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office. Jeffrey Haugen, 30, faces two felony counts of aggravated battery with strangulation causing great bodily harm and two misdemeanor counts of domestic battery causing bodily harm, Kane County court records show. 724 Deaths In Kane County Since Pandemic's Start 1 Year Ago Authorities issued a nationwide warrant for Haugen's arrest on Jan. 21 after Kane County deputies alleged he attacked a woman multiple times on Jan. 18 and Jan. 19, Sheriff Ron Hain said in a news release. Police allege Haugen hit the woman in the head with a rock, in addition to kicking, beating and strangling her over those two days. The Kane County Sheriff's Office said the woman suffered injuries but did not provide any additional information. Elgin Man To Serve 5 Years In Prison For Fatal DUI Crash In 2017 Haugen was arrested Friday in the 39W600 block of Caribou Trial in Campton Township by the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Task Force, the release states. Haugen is being held at the Kane County jail in lieu of $150,000 bail. He is due to appear in court Thursday morning.
