Skilled Fabricator Wanted

We are a Denver based design fabrication company that specializes in unique architectural features and furniture. We need a skilled fabricator to take on our metalwork projects. We expect our current work overload to occupy this contractor for three months. You are experienced at MIG and TIG welding mild steel. You know how to read a drawing, generate a cut list, and cut material accurately with minimal waste. You know how to finish corners and grind flat, not over-grind. You need to supply your own basic tools so you can operate independently within our workshop space. We will assign you a project, provide drawings, materials, and discuss tolerances and quality control expectations. You will have a deadline to meet, and we will agree on a flat fee for the work. Based on our bidding and the speed our shop normally produces work of this quality, you should be able to make $25-$30/hr. from the fee. You will be working in our shop, using our fabrication fixtures and whatever welding tools you don’t supply. Other work will be happening around you, you will have to co-operate with our employees and be flexible on which space you work in on a given day. Each day we will tell you which employees will be available to assist you with moving work or locating material. We are a positive, high spirited shop, and you will find help when needed. Your independent contractor status will be documented by signing a contract defining the business relationship. You are responsible for all taxes related to income from this contract work. We will provide 1099 documentation. The ideal candidate will have their own General Liabilty coverage for their business, but this is not required. We care about your health, our health and our families: we wear masks in our shop.
