ART STUDIO SHARE - THE BASICS: seeking additional studio mate for 900 square foot art studio in the Arts and Industries building (near Florence Center). The share would ideally begin around April 1st and would be $140 a month total for a 5th person. Breakdown of cost for the 5th person would be $135 for rent and $5 for liability insurance (required by the building). We’re looking into getting wifi which could bring the cost up, but there is also free (spotty) wifi in the building so that might not happen. The space is well suited for visual artists and writers. Tons of light and wall space. Loud instruments (drums, etc) are not possible to accommodate in the space right now because of our neighbors' needs. Our space is on the fourth floor and there is a freight elevator that you can take to get to it, but you need to walk up about 6 stairs to get to the elevator. Studio members are non-smokers and one is sober. We would prefer adding on another studio member who is also a non-smoker. Scents are sometimes used in the studio as a part of one members practice (paint) and another member sometimes works with clay (dust, but it is cleaned up). Most of the people in the studio are writers and use it as a work space for that. We're all collectively minded and make decisions as a group. We are prioritizing people who can make a long term commitment, but are open to doing a trial period to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone. PANDEMIC DETAILS: Three of us have been sharing a studio for ~2 years and we are all comfortable coworking with one another (with masks on and social distancing in place) during the pandemic. We are willing to adjust as needed, but we are hopeful that once it’s safe to do so, people will be down to co-work/share space in the studio at the same time and cultivate a communal environment. We’re presently having meetings over zoom and in person.
