SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Beach wheelchairs are available for public use at eight Santa Cruz County state beaches. A total of 10 wheelchairs are available across Manresa, Natural Bridges, New Brighton, Palm, Seabright, Seacliff, Sunset and Twin Lakes state beaches. Five of those wheelchairs were recently purchased thanks to grant funding from the California Coastal Conservancy. The wheelchairs are free to use, but the user must fill out a checkout form and provide identification, according to Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks. The seats are 18 inches wide, can accommodate up to 300 pounds and have seatbelts. Anyone wishing to use a chest strap should bring their own. Anyone wishing to use a beach wheelchair is encouraged to reserve them in advance by calling the State Parks Special Events office at 831-335-8487 or email [email protected], though the chairs are available without a reservation. #BreakingNews We are so pleased to announce that thanks to a grant from the California State Coastal Conservancy, five...Posted by Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks on Thursday, March 4, 2021
