Description

CONCORD, NH — Smoke seen in the area of Hopkinton Road led firefighters to the western part of the city for a smoke investigation which led to a chicken coop fire. Just after 7 a.m., Engine 5 requested dispatch send Station 4 crews to the road after spotting "heavy, black smoke" in the area. Engine 4 told dispatch it would be clearing from another call and would head to the area. A couple of minutes later, a full battalion of firefighters from Concord as well Bow, Canterbury, Dunbarton, and Pembroke teams, for mutual aid, were requested for a house fire on Hopkinton Road between Currier Road and Ash Brook. Engine 5 then arrived and reported that a detached garage and a chicken coop were ablaze. Hopkinton EMTs were also requested. Before their arrival, the homeowner attempted to douse the fire with a hose, that was seen outside near the fire. The bulk of the fire was then knocked down at just before 7:30 a.m. and all mutual aid was canceled. Fire prevention was called in to speak with the homeowner and investigate the case of the fire. It is unknown at post time what caused the fire or if any chickens were lost. Got a news tip? Send it to [email protected]. View videos on Tony Schinella's YouTube.com channelor Rumble.com channel.
