Charter Has 3K $18 An Hour Job Openings

LOS ANGELES, CA — It's been a dismal year for job seekers, but in a small sign of a turnaround, Charter Communications Inc. announced plans to raise the company's minimum wage to $18 as it tries to fill thousands of positions. The broadband and cable giant is hiring 200 people in the Southern California and Arizona region and 3,000 positions across 41 states. The company has committed to raising the minimum wage to $20 by 2022. "Virtually all current and newly hired salaried and hourly employees will now earn at least $18 an hour, including target commissions, in addition to comprehensive company-paid benefits, including medical, life and disability, education and training, and a generous retirement plan," according to a company statement. Charter, has been steadily raising its minimum wage since 2018 when the company instituted a $15 an hour starting wage. "Charter is a place where employees can continuously learn and progress in their development," said Chairman and CEO Tom Rutledge. "Building, selling and servicing an advanced broadband network, conventional and streaming video, with fixed and wireless mobile products for home and business, creates ongoing career opportunities."
