In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the GI Research Foundation (GIRF) is transforming its 60th
annual event into an online gala and fundraiser on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Since 1961, GIRF’s community of patients, families, friends and medical professionals has gathered in upwards of 600 attendees for the annual ball, their signature fundraising event. The Virtual Ball offers GIRF supporters an unforgettable experience featuring Emmy-Award winning mentalist, Oz Pearlman, music by Maggie Speaks, and a special presentation by Dr. David T. Rubin, Lead Scientific Advisor for the GI Research Foundation. This year’s Ball honors Beatrice G. Crain of the Crain-Maling Foundation with the inaugural Joseph B. Kirsner Award and Nancy and Sy Taxman with the Partners in Science Award.
