Today, we still stubbornly follow the same practices as Alfred Peet himself: Meticulous selectivity at origin, roasting each small batch by hand, and a commitment to delivering coffee to stores obsessively fresh. Peet’s is a fast-paced environment, at an extremely exciting time of expansion and we are looking to add some talented Manufacturing Technicians to our Roasting Plant! DETAILS: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Manufacturiong Technician performs maintenance to keep Peet’s roasting plant equipment in good working condition for the support of mail order production, shipping and receiving, roasting, tea packing, retail and administrative operations. The maintenance technician is a full time, non-exempt position. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide repairs to roasting plant facilities and equipment including; electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing. - Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment according to the maintenance schedule. - Repair Facilities related items, doors, dock levelers, lights, ballasts, sinks, drains, and general grounds maintenance. - Assists with Roaster Maintenance which will require the ability to work on ladders and use basic hand and power tools. QUALIFICATIONS: - Must be mechanically inclined. - Ability to work with computers for accurate word processing, data entry and basic spreadsheets. - Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, make recommendations, draw conclusions and communicate effectively. - Must be able to safely lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. - Must possess a California driver’s license and provide proof of a good driving record. - Ability to take direction and a willingness to learn new skills. - Must be able to work a variety of shifts including occasional weekends, evenings, and overtime.
