UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The Riverside Park Conservancy, in partnership with NYC Parks' Art in the Park program, announced Wednesday it will offer a free summer-long public art exhibition in celebration of its 35th anniversary and the city's slow emergence from the coronavirus pandemic.
The free art exhibition is called "RE: Growth, A Celebration of Art, Riverside Park, and the New York Spirit." It will be curated by Karin Bravin, and the exhibition will include over 20 artists in 13 site-specific installations throughout Riverside Park.
"RE: GROWTH will feature unique works of art that use color and unexpected materials to explore the concept of re-growth — literal, metaphorical, poetic, and philosophical," according to a news release about the exhibit.
The art displays will be installed throughout the west side of Manhattan park from 68th to 145th Street and will be on view from June 5, 2021, to Sept. 10, 2021.
"This is a gift to all New Yorkers as we emerge from this pandemic," said Dan Garodnick, President and CEO of Riverside Park Conservancy, in a news release. "The Conservancy is happy to celebrate its 35th year of service to the Park by delivering this free, and socially-distanced, activity for people to enjoy all summer long."
