SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Visitation at Suffolk County correctional facilities is set to begin again soon. Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon Jr. said inmate visiting will kick off again on March 23, with special safety precautions and procedures. Visits will be limited to non-contact, half-hour sessions, and masks will be required. Appointments will also be required, and no walk-in visits will be permitted initially, he said. "As the health and safety of inmates, visitors, and staff remain paramount during the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to ensure a balance between permitting visits with friends and loved ones while continuing to mitigate the spread of coronavirus," Toulon said. Reservations will begin on March 22; anyone wishing to make a visiting appointment or that needs additional information should call 631- 852-1894.
