Where: Agate Beach from Nye Beach to Yaquina Head Who: Open to Individuals or Teams, Students and Seniors What: Microplastic Cleanup Teams have (2 hours) to pick up a much microplastics as possible from the beach. Why: Microplastics is a large and growing problem that needs to be addressed. Money is a good motivator for a competition that will benefit everyone. How: Competitors will design their own tools, or processes to maximize their microplastic collection efforts. The goal is to develop a solution to the microplastic particulate problem that can be repeated all over the world. This model of crowd sourced collective efforts to financially motivate smart minds to work on problems that we all face and allow them the recognition and platform to be successful with bringing their ideas to life.
