Description

A few years ago, author and marine scientist Dr. Ellen Prager went to Ilulissat, Greenland for research on climate change. She spent hours hiking around the Kangia Icefjord, went kayaking among icebergs, observed the Equi Glacier calve from a boat, and discovered a mesmerizing land of icy wonder. It also inspired her for the setting of the soon-to-be-released (April 1st) second book in her Wonder List Adventure series - Escape Greenland. Join Ellen as she introduces you to the wonders of Ilulissat, Greenland, the impacts there of climate change, and as she gives you a glimpse into the fun and exciting adventures of Ezzy and Luke Skylar in the new book. - See and learn about the astonishing Kangia Icefjord, possibly the world’s most prolific producer of icebergs (including one very famous one). - Learn how whales, seals, and native Greenland dogs come into the story, and how Ezzy and Luke must deal with bullying and make decisions that could have dangerous consequences. - Hear about how in this tale, cold-water kayaking takes on a whole new meaning. Ellen will share incredible images of the setting and explain why she chose it. She will also preview the Real vs Made-up section of the book to see if audience members can tell which parts of the story are based on real science and which are pure fiction. So come join us for some frozen fun!
