Description
Are you a regular cannabis user? Are you between the ages of 21 and 34? Do
you want to contribute to the science of cannabis and sleep?
If you answered yes to the above, you may be eligible for a study investigating
the effect of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) on sleep.
Scientists at OHSU are looking for volunteers for a study on the effect of THC on
sleep in humans. Eligible participants will be between the age of 21 and 34 years
old with a BMI less than 35 and free of any acute, chronic or debilitating medical
conditions. Participants must be regular cannabis users (smoked, or digested
weekly for the past 3 months). Further eligibility is determined during a medical
evaluation at no cost to you.
Researchers at OHSU aim to investigate how behaviors and the body’s internal
clock affect the control of the heart and blood pressure. After 2-4 screening visits,
eligible study volunteers will maintain a set sleep schedule at home for up to 3
weeks and then spend 3 consecutive nights at our facility. Sleep and other
measurements will be performed, and dronabinol (oral THC) will be administered
in the lab.
Receive up to $805 for study completion as well as reasonable parking and
transportation cost coverage.
