Description

Six Pack S.T.E.M. Week is a six-day STEM program introducing kids to the fundamentals of technology and computer science. For one hour each day, students will take a journey through the STEM concepts and structures associated with computers and computer use in our everyday lives. Participants will learn the basics of code through Braille and Morse code, observe how electricity works and its role in binary code, build their own circuits and telegraph machines, identify the guts of a computer, and design their own computer algorithms. They will also be introduced to associated STEM jobs and career paths, with a focus on those available in our local community. Intended for ages 8-10. Registration required! Schedule: Every Day 1:00PM - 2:00PM March 29 - April 3 This event was made possible through a Science Education Grant from the Idaho Department of Education and support from the Avista Foundation, the Lewiston Library Foundation, and the Friends of the Lewiston City Library.
