Sex Offender Found In Pasco County After 21 Years On Run

PASCO COUNTY, FL — The United States Marshals Service has arrested an Idaho sex offender after 21 years on the run. On Friday, U.S. marshals from Tampa, the Florida Caribbean Fugitive Task Force, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Dixie County Sheriff's Office apprehended Idaho's longest absconded sex offender, Phillip Jenison, 75. Jenison was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender after leaving Idaho without permission in 1999. Jenison was convicted on molestation charges in 1995 and was required by law to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison. U.S. marshals in Tampa learned that Jenison had been living in Pasco County since at least 2000 under the alias Philip Kane. Agents subsequently tracked Jenison to an address in Dixie County. He was taken to the Dixie County Jail where he is awaiting extradition back to Idaho. "The U.S Marshals Service remains relentless in its pursuit of sex offenders who attempt to evade justice for the crimes they commit against children," U.S. Marshal Bill Berger said. Jenison will face new charges for failure to register in Pasco and Dixie counties.
