BrightView Landscape Services is looking for Crew Leaders. Crew Leader: SUMMARY Performs supervision of the crew (G1-G3) and communicates with clients while maintaining the grounds of industrial, commercial, public, or private property based upon “on- site” or “route” assignment scheduling by performing the following duties. It is Essential to: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Supervise and train up to four crewmembers (G1-G3). • Adjust work patterns to meet client’s needs and ensure schedules are adhered to. • Conduct monthly truck inspections, weekly job site surveys and safety meetings, and review time cards for accuracy. Complete punch lists, work schedules, and Foreman’s Report of Accident. Facilitate material and equipment repair requests. • Irrigation system management: timer adjustments rewire and repair valves and sprinkler heads, and minor irrigation system repairs as well as main line breaks up to 3” using screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, handsaw, and glue. • Identify infestations of landscape pests and weeds and how to properly control them through mixing and applying pesticides and herbicides using a 2-gallon handheld sprayer or 3-gallon backpack sprayer. Ensure containers are properly labeled. • Transport crew and equipment to job site. • Cut lawns utilizing various sized power mowers (21”-72” walk behind and riding), trim and edge using gas powered edgers, and string trimmers. Operate gas-powered blowers and lawn aerators. Adjust and sharpen blades and provide basic equipment maintenance (oil and filter change) and troubleshooting. • Responsible for tree, shrub, flower, and weed identification. • Trim shrubs and low trees to shape and improve growth or to remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs using shears, loppers, pole pruners, or gas powered hedge trimmers using advanced pruning techniques. • Remove dead foliage from plants and flowers, mass planting/changing of color beds including soil preparation, spacing, and cleanup. Lay sod, apply seed and top dressing. • Pick-up leaves, trash and grass clippings, and place into burlaps, which are then placed into truck/trailer and dumpster. • Perform weeding by hand or utilizing a garden hoe, hula hoe, weedpick, and rake. • Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with guests and clients, respond to staff instructions, assist in problem solving, and directing contact with the right person. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
