Incense Causes Annapolis House Fire, Injures Occupant: Officials

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Officials said smoldering incense led to an Annapolis house fire Saturday afternoon. A spokesperson noted that the accidental blaze burned one occupant's hands, sending them to an unnamed hospital. An incident report added that the fire caused $2,000 in damage and displaced three adults and two pets. The tenants did not need assistance from the American Red Cross, the department clarified. Crews indicated that they answered the call around 3:30 p.m. When they arrived to the area of Wellington Place and Spa Road, they reported finding smoke coming from the front of the two-story, single-family home. First responders indicated that the fire started in the basement. A team of 36 firefighters controlled the flames in about 10 minutes, a press release informed.
